Course Delivery

This course is delivered through a blend of online learning and in-person workshops. You’ll complete the theory through our learning platform, with a mix of written and video content supported by expert tutors. You’ll then attend two workshop blocks: Weekend 1 (2 days): Foundations, beginner repertoire, posture, alignment and teaching skills Weekend 2 (3 days): Progressive repertoire, small equipment, sequencing and class design The workshops are practical, focused and designed to build real teaching confidence.

Assessment

Assessment is designed to reflect real-world teaching. You’ll complete: Knowledge checks throughout your learning A structured portfolio covering planning, theory and applied practice A practical assessment where you plan and teach a full mixed ability class You’ll also reflect on your teaching and identify how to improve.

Entry requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this course. You should have an interest in Pilates and a willingness to learn, practise and develop your teaching skills.

Certification

Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork This is a Level 3 qualification accredited by YMCA Awards and regulated by Ofqual. Once qualified, you can teach group and one-to-one Pilates sessions to industry standards.
